We have a new deacon in the church!  The Rev. Lana Grawbarger is a descendant of Chief Shingwauk and has been doing the ministry of a deacon in Garden River for many years.  It was wonderful to have Bishop Mark MacDonald and Bishop Stephen Andrews with us to share in this special day.  The deer hide stole that Lana is wearing was made years ago by her mother, Betty, and it has a beaded crane on it signifying leadership in the Indigenous culture.

There was a wonderful turn out at the Garden River Recreation Centre for the service and the community provided a most incredible feast following!
