Preliminary Consultation Findings Highlight Importance of Children, Youth & Family Ministry

Preliminary results from the Diocese of Algoma’s Children, Youth & Family Ministry consultation reveal strong support for making ministry with children, youth, and families a diocesan priority. While respondents identified challenges such as declining participation and volunteer recruitment, they also expressed enthusiasm for leadership training, resource development, regional collaboration, and new approaches to ministry. The consultation remains open as the Diocese works toward a renewed ministry plan for Synod 2027.

Young Anglicans aged 15–23 are invited to register for the Provincial Youth Council Gathering 2026, taking place August 27–30 at Jericho House in Port Colborne. Under the theme Cultivating Good Soil, the weekend will offer worship, leadership development, discussion, and opportunities to connect with peers from across the Ecclesiastical Province of Ontario.

Alongside Hope Youth Council Visits Thunder Bay

Young leaders from across Canada gathered in Thunder Bay from May 21–24 for the Alongside Hope Youth Council’s bi-annual in-person meeting. The weekend included worship, presentations, conversations about Indigenous communities, visits to local Anglican ministries, and opportunities to connect with youth and community leaders while exploring the mission and impact of Alongside Hope.
