The Diocese of Algoma is in the process of developing a policy on the Perpetual Diaconate.  Those who are interested in the subject may wish to read some of the papers informing this discussion:

• The Iona Report – Received by General Synod in 2016, the Iona Report identifies knowledge, skill areas, and character traits that can be adapted to local conditions while providing consistent guidelines in how deacons are selected, formed/trained, used and understood across the Anglican Church of Canada.
