Prayer Vigil for the people of James Smith Reserve and Town of Weldon
As you will have heard there has been a tragedy in Saskatchewan at the James Smith Reserve and town of Weldon nearby in which 10 people have died and 15 are injured. Our Primate, Archbishop Linda Nicholls, and Archbishop Justin Welby visited this reserve in May where they were warmly received. The continuing uncertainties for Saskatchewan and Manitoba as police search for the perpetrators have many people on edge. Our hope is found in turning to God in prayer. A national prayer vigil is planned for the whole church to gather online on THURSDAY, September 8th at 7 p.m. EDT
Some of the affected bishops will join the Primate in leading the prayer vigil.
With deep sorrow at such pain and violence….and its effects.
