Training opportunities for Lay Readers and Lay Readers-in-training
The Lay Readers and Lay Readers-in-training in the Diocese of Algoma are invited to join in three virtual training sessions developed by the Rev. Dr. Jay Koyle focusing on preaching. The training opportunities, “Setting Hearts Ablaze: Preaching that Transforms Pulpit and Pew,” will occur via the Zoom platform on June 4th, 8th, and 11th from 7-8:30 p.m. An outline of the components of the sessions is available at the link below.
Due to the numbers of people who could potentially participate, we are limiting registration to the first 30 people. Do not be discouraged if you are unable to participate in this set of trainings as we anticipate offering a repeat series in early summer.
If you are interested, you are requested to contact Alison Weir, Diocesan Warden of Lay Readers, no later than Monday, June 1st. An invitation to the Zoom call will be sent to you personally via e-mail. If we have reached our maximum number of participants, you will be notified by e-mail and we will advise at a later date when the summer series will run.
This is a wonderful opportunity for training and development and we encourage you to participate as you are able. If you are not available to take in all three sessions, you are welcome to indicate which one you would like to join.
