The Diocese of Algoma is pleased to announce that Dr. Roberta Bondar, Canada’s first woman in space, will be the keynote speaker at the Bishop’s Dinner on Friday, May 9, 2025, at The Water Tower Inn, Sault Ste. Marie.

This special evening will celebrate the launch of the Anne Germond Legacy Fund, an Episcopal Trust dedicated to sustaining the ministry of the Bishop’s Office and supporting the future of faith in Algoma.

“It is a tremendous honour to welcome Dr. Roberta Bondar as our guest speaker,” says Archbishop Anne Germond. “Her life and work are a powerful testament to the kind of visionary leadership and compassionate service we hope to inspire through the Anne Germond Legacy Fund.”

Tickets are $150, which includes a $70 charitable tax receipt, and are available now via Canada Helps: Purchase Tickets Here

The evening will begin with cocktails at 5:30 PM, followed by dinner at 6:30 PM, and will include a silent auction featuring unique contributions from across the Diocese. Those interested in donating an item or experience to the auction are warmly invited to get in touch.
