Christ Church, Lively and St. John’s, Copper Cliff welcome The Rev. Paul Baskcomb as their Incumbent
3rd week of Advent
Archbishop Anne is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Paul Baskcomb as the Incumbent of Christ Church Anglican in Lively and St. John the Divine in Copper Cliff. This appointment is part time at 60% and will be effective January 1, 2025.
Rev. Paul has a wealth of experience from his career as a an urban planner in the City of Greater Sudbury which included service as Director of Planning and then as General Manager of Growth and Development.
Prior to ordination Rev. Paul attended the Church of the Ascension in Sudbury. Over the years he has been an active proponent of Thorneloe University and a one time Chair of the Board of Governors and Acting President for five months in 2019. He received the honorary degree of Doctorate of Sacred Letters (D.S. Litt) from Thorneloe University in 2023 Rev.
Rev. Paul graduated with an MTS from Wycliffe College in May 2024 and was ordained a Deacon in June 2024. Since then he has been serving in a number of parishes in Sudbury-Manitoulin as the ‘Deanery Deacon’ and will be ordained a priest in the coming months.
This appointment is made with great joy and anticipation for the future of both congregations. Rev. Paul has a deep commitment to ministry and a strong theological foundation and brings with him a heart for community engagement and spiritual formation.
