Congratulations to the Rev. Paul Baskcomb on the occasion of his ordination to the sacred order of deacons on Saturday June 8th at Christ Church Lively.

We were delighted that Bishop Stephen Andrews travelled to Sudbury to be the ordination preacher. His sermon was inspiring as it touched on the ministry of a deacon – what it is and what it is not. At its heart it is a ministry of servanthood for all people. A deacon, ‘interprets to the Church the needs, concerns and hopes of the world.”

Rev. Paul will serve as a Deanery Deacon in Sudbury/Manitoulin under the supervision of the Territorial Archdeacon. He will be assisting in a number of parishes over the summer months. Paul is married to Marsha and they have three adult children and two grandchildren.

Let us pray with and for Rev. Paul that he will always be ‘faithful to serve, ready to teach and constant to advance the gospel’ of salvation.
