Condolences to the Buie family
It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Mary Buie on April 16th, 2023 with her family at her side in the Little Current Hospice. A dedicated member of St. John the Evangelist (Kagawong) she worked tirelessly to build community. She was a church warden and Lay Reader and a long-time member of the Diocesan Postulancy Commission which advises the Bishop on matters concerning the discernment of vocations to ordained ministry.
Tributes to Mary have been received by Archbishop Anne and are shared in the link below. She has impacted many lives in her church family, in her community, and as a nurse and midwife. Her faithfulness to her Lord in times of great challenge was inspiring and her desire to share her journey with others in Following Hopes Path (Manitoulin Expositor) was a testament to her strength and “indefatigable force”.
The full obituary may be found here. Her Celebration of Life will be held at the M’Chigeeng Community Complex on Sunday, April 30th from 1-3 p.m. Mary’s strict wish was for everyone to dress in bright, happy colours for the event.
