Archbishop Anne Germond is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Catherine Hazlitt as Pastoral Associate for the Parishes of Manitoulin Island comprised of All Saints (Gore Bay), St. John the Evangelist (Kagawong), St. Francis of Assisi (Mindemoya), St. Paul’s (Manitowaning), and Holy Trinity (Little Current).  This appointment is effective September 15, 2022.

Catherine is a recent graduate from the Master of Divinity degree at Wycliffe College.  She will be known to some in the Deanery of Sudbury-Manitoulin as she spent the summer of 2021 in the deanery fulfilling the pastoral internship requirements of her seminary formation.  Her work experience outside of the church includes nursing with a special focus on mental health, trauma and addiction recovery.  She is currently involved in the postulancy process of the Diocese.

Catherine has three daughters, one in university and two who will be moving to the Island with her.

We welcome Catherine to her new role and uphold her, her family, and the Manitoulin Island Parishes in prayer as they prepare to commence ministry together.
