Archbishop Anne Germond is pleased to announce the appointment of The Rev. Kevin McAllister as Incumbent of St. John the Divine (North Bay), St. Peter’s (Callander) and St. Mary’s (Powassan) effective October 15, 2021.

Rev. Kevin comes to Algoma from the Diocese of Frederiction and ministry with the parish of Marysville.  During his ministry, Kevin and the parishes he served developed a number of mission initiatives to put their faith into good works. An annual bowling tournament was started which has grown into a diocesan wide event to support child hunger.  A great relationship was developed with the Fredericton Community Kitchens Student Hunger Program that provides seventy thousand lunches annually to hungry children in the Fredericton area.

Prior to his ordination in 2016, Rev. McAllister was an Aviation Technician with the RCAF, serving in Greenwood NS and Gagetown NB.

We welcome Rev. Kevin and his son, Nicholas, to Algoma and uphold them both in prayer as they prepare to transition to a new city and province.  We also uphold the people of St. John’s, St. Peter’s, and St. Mary’s as they prepare to welcome a new Incumbent and as they begin ministry together as a new parish.
