We are saddened to announce the death of the Rev. John Sovereign on September 16, 2020 in Chilliwack, BC, following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

John was Incumbent of St. John’s Church, Schreiber from 1996-2006. After leaving Algoma, he served St. Thomas’ Church in Chilliwack, BC until his retirement in May 2017.

At this time, no obituary is available.  Further details will be shared once they are received.

On August 22, 2020, John was honoured by the Chilliwack After Hours Rotary Club with the Paul Harris Fellowship (the highest honour in Rotary) while he was in palliative care.  The links below will take you to the article in The Chilliwack Progress and to an article from the Diocese of New Westminster.
