It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dorothy Irene Jessie Chabot in her 99th year at her residence in Sundridge on June 23, 2020.  Dorothy was the widow of The Rev. Canon Arthur Chabot and the two of them provided ministry in Coniston, New Liskeard, Marathon,  Englehart, and North Bay.  Their life together was spent completely in the Diocese of Algoma.

Dorothy was an active member of Christ Church, North Bay until a couple of years ago and could often be heard leading Sunday lessons.  The Anglican Church Women was always a part of her life.  She was a Diocesan President and also held positions on the Executive.  For several years, she was president of The North Bay Prayer Book Society as well as a member of the National Prayer Book Society.

A private family service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Christ Church, North Bay.

We give thanks for Dorothy’s life and we commend her to God’s safe keeping. May she rest in the peace of Christ and rise again with him in glory.  We pray for Dorothy’s family, that they will find comfort in the promises of God and in the knowledge that her Diocesan family mourn with them and uphold them in prayer.
