PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Diocese of Algoma ACW Board

Greetings:  Archbishop Anne, Diocese of Algoma Executive Board, Anglican Church Women members:

formal, associated groups  and supporters.

I wish to inform you of the consideration and decision to cancel/defer the Diocese of Algoma ACW

Annual Meeting in Thunder Bay scheduled for May 26-28, 2020.  We arrived at our decision to do so

now, so as to be sure we would be taking all necessary care and concern for the health and safety of our

membership, and the many contacts involved in travelling throughout the expanse of our deaneries. We

will keep busy and in touch–>anti-Covid-19<– style and RE-CONVENE in Thunder Bay in May 2021!!!

Please contact the Prince Arthur Hotel regarding cancelling reservation of rooms and retention of credit

card sureties, and  make contact with travel providers such as airlines, bus, train, car rentals etc., for

reimbursement or booking cancellations.  Should you encounter problems with credit for tickets, please

advise the Treasurer for assistance.  Registration fee reimbursement procedures are in process.

We are working on a ‘special’ edition of the Algoma Newsletter using all of the relevant information for

the Annual, and would appreciate the deaneries adding more news since January, coping strategies, and

chatty or fun items to include for all, and especially those who couldn’t have made the trip, to enjoy.

Please gather up your Thank Offerings for 2020 as soon as possible and forward as one cheque or

money order from each deanery if you can do so, in order for us to donate to ‘Giving with Grace’.

Keep safe, happy, and in communication with everyone, looking forward to summer or fall meetings!
