Emmaus news
Archbishop Anne Germond announces that yesterday, at Emmaus Anglican Church (Sault Ste. Marie), the Rev. Pam Rayment advised the congregation of her calling to a new position. She has accepted the appointment as the Associate Priest for Parents and Families at St. Clement’s Anglican Church in Toronto commencing late summer 2019.
In a letter to the parish, Archbishop Anne indicated that “like so many of you I am sad that Emmaus and Algoma will be losing such a fine priest. Rev. Pam has served the church well for many years and has incredible gifts and abilities which she shares with a willing heart.”
Pam has served the Diocese of Algoma in many positions of ministry over the last nine years. She has been the Program Associate and Child and Youth Ministry Facilitator for the Deanery of Algoma; she was the Incumbent at St. John’s, Garden River where some very important relationships were formed and continue; she was the Incumbent at St. John the Evangelist and then Associate Priest at Emmaus, following the merger of St. John’s and St. Matthew’s. In August of 2017, she was appointed Incumbent of Emmaus at the request of the congregation.
Archbishop Anne encourages us to pray for Rev. Pam, her husband, Jeremy, and son, Logan, as the news of this appointment is shared. She also requests prayers for Emmaus and St. Clement’s as one prepares to say farewell to a beloved priest and the other prepares to welcome her to their midst.
“May this time of endings and new beginnings be smooth for both parishes and Rev. Pam and her family.”
