UPDATE

The funeral service for the Reverend Canon Margaret Johnston is scheduled for Thursday, September 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity-All Saints’, Bala.  Bishop Anne Germond is presiding and the Reverend Lynn Uzans will preach.  Clergy and Lay Readers are invited to vest and process.  The liturgical colour is white.  Please contact Liz Hamel (adminassistant@dioceseofalgoma.com or 705-256-5061  X27) to indicate your intention to attend so we may ensure appropriate seating.  Visitation is at the church on Wednesday, September 19th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at Torrance Cemetery.

A reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 424.

Dear friends,

We pray for the repose of the soul of our beloved sister in Christ, Margaret Johnston (Trinity-All Saints, Bala), who died last evening surrounded by those she is nearest and dearest to. We mourn this loss and all that it means to us, but we give thanks for the example of her life of prayer and devotion and her call to serve Christ in the church.

Margaret lived out her baptismal call each and every day.  The entire Village of Bala is mourning her loss, so greatly is she loved.

A more formal announcement will be forthcoming once further details are determined as her family prepares to honour her life and give all the glory to God- which is what Margaret would want. We give thanks for the privilege we had of knowing her and learning from her life of simplicity and obedience.

We pray for her sons and their families, and for her closest friends and her parish family that they may find comfort and peace in the knowledge that her rest today is in paradise.

Light perpetual shines on her. May she Rest In Peace and rise again in glory.
