Canon D-6: THE ALGOMA DIVINITY STUDENTS' TRUST FUND

establishment of the fund:

1. There shall be a fund known as The Algoma Divinity Students' Trust Fund, which shall be managed by the Executive Committee.

sources of the fund:

2. The fund shall consist of the existing Algoma Divinity Students' Trust Fund and such offerings, subscriptions, donations and legacies as may be given for the purposes of this fund.

investment of funds:

3. The Executive Committee may invest all funds held by it in trust in connection with this fund in accordance with the Incorporated Synod of the Diocese of Algoma Act, 1953. (Amended 1976).

grants from the fund:

4. The Executive Committee or the Bishop may make a grant from the income of the fund to any student in divinity who has been accepted by the Bishop as a candidate for Holy Orders and who fulfils the following conditions:

a) the student's financial need shall be declared in writing;

b) the student shall sign an agreement stating

(i) a willingness to serve in the Diocese during the summer vacations of theological training, if so requested by the Bishop;

(ii) a willingness upon ordination to serve in the Diocese for a period of at least three years, if so requested by the Bishop. (Amended 1929, 1976).
