Bishop Stephen Andrews is pleased to announce the following appointments within the Diocese of Algoma:
The Rev. Gordon Holroyd has been appointed as Interim Incumbent at St. Luke’s, Thunder Bay effective January 1, 2012. Mr. Holroyd is originally from the Diocese of Keewatin but has been providing ministry as the Honorary Assistant at St. Paul’s, Thunder Bay. He has also been actively involved in providing ministry at St. Luke’s during this transition period. We welcome Gordon to his new position and wish him well as he undertakes this new ministry within the diocese.
Lynne Preston has been appointed as Deanery Child and Youth Ministry Facilitator for the Deanery of Muskoka effective December 1, 2011. Lynne has extensive experience working with youth in church settings as well as within public institutions. She currently worships and teaches Sunday school at Christ Church, Port Sydney. She is employed seasonally for Ontario Pioneer Camp in Muskoka which has given her ample opportunity to interact with both children and teens. She has a tremendous passion for youth and in activities that will assist with their development. She has initiated the formation of several youth-centered groups including “Youth for Christ” (Huntsville). We welcome Lynne to her new position and wish her well as she undertakes this new ministry.
