Bishop announces new appointment

Posted: May 15, 2017

Bishop Anne Germond is pleased to announce the appointment of The Rev. Claire Miller as Incumbent of Holy Trinity, Sault Ste. Marie effective July 1, 2017.

Ms. Miller comes to us from the Diocese of Huron where she is rector of St. Thomas Anglican Church (with All Saints’, Wolseley) in Owen Sound.  She has a diploma in Business Administration from Cambrian College and an M.Div. from Trinity College.

Claire is no stranger to the Diocese of Algoma as she served an internship on Manitoulin Island with the Rev. Canon Bain Peever in 1999.  She was also a Lay Reader, Sunday School Superintendent, Treasurer and Deputy Warden for St. Francis of Assisi Anglican Church in Mindemoya during the years 1994 to 1998.

She sites her passions as working with Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation, community outreach for hunger and relief efforts (an 8 year board member of the Owen Sound local soup kitchen/Owen Sound Hunger Relief Effort), and ecumenical work within her deanery.

Claire and her dog, Solomon, look forward to making their way to Sault Ste. Marie.

We welcome Claire to the Diocese and ask that you uphold her and Holy Trinity as they prepare to begin their ministry together.
