Mission to Seafarers' Annual Report

Posted: Jul 7, 2015

Thank you for your support of the Mission to Seafarers in Thunder Bay. Your support assists us to provide hospitality, assistance and a Christian witness to the seafarers who come to the Port of Thunder Bay.

We were pleased that the ITF Seafarers Trust gave the Thunder Bay Mission a grant that enabled the purchase of a 2014 Ford Econline van. Donations towards the van in 2014 helped us bridge the gap through funding a rental while we were applying for the grant.

As you have contributed to our work, a copy of our Annual Report is enclosed. It has a financial summary, but not the full financial statements and statements are available to donors upon request.

This spring we developed a Ministry Plan, and I enclose it for your reference.

We appreciate opportunities to make our work known better. As more people become value the outreach we provide for seafarers, it will be easier to obtain the resources we need to provide this outreach. An invitation would be appreciated for myself or an experienced volunteer to speak about the work of the Mission to Seafarers to interested groups or to set up our display. We have two power point presentations: an ‘Introduction to the Port of Thunder Bay and the Mission to Seafarers’ and the ‘Year in Review’.

Would you consider financially supporting the Mission to Seafarers this year, if you have not already done so? Your contribution enables a dedicated group of volunteers and me to care for seafarers who arrive in the Port of Thunder Bay.

We would like to keep in touch. If you would like to visit the Seafarers' Centre at Keefer Terminal, please call me.

If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. The Centre’s phone is forwarded to my cell phone or a volunteer in my absence. I am regularly in the Seafarers’ Centre on Monday afternoons, Wednesday mornings and by appointment.

In Christ’s service,

  Ed
