Condolences to the Locke Family

Posted: Mar 6, 2015

We were sad to learn of the death of Isabelle Locke on Thursday morning, 5th March, 2015. Her obituary is printed below, with details of the funeral in Haileybury on Monday. She had been in a nursing home in Hailebury since the summer of 2013, and her daughter, Joan, said that her death was peaceful.

As the wife of one of Algoma's distinguished archdeacons, Isabelle was herself very much involved in the life and work of the diocese. She was a pillar of the Anglican Church Women (formerly the Women's Auxiliary) and the Girls' Auxiliary. She and Roy served churches in Manitowaning, Englehart, Gravenhurst, and churches in Haileybury, Cobalt and Temagami. She had a special affection for children and was especially devoted to the work of Camp Temiskaming. Bishop Andrews asks that members of the diocesan family join him in giving thanks to God for this devout and loyal disciple of Jesus Christ, and in asking God's comfort for family and friends who mourn. May the memorial service be a source of encouragment for all the 'marching saints' whose hope is in the Resurrected One.
