Condolences to The Reverend Diane Hilpert-McIlroy

We express our sympathies to The Reverend Diane Hilpert-McIlroy on the death of her father, Don Wallace. Diane writes that he died early Sunday Morning, 4 January. He had been ill for some time. Here is the obituary.

Wallace, Donald Lawrence of Harriston – surrounded by the love of his family passed away at Caressant Care in Harriston January 4, 2015 at the age of 90 years.

Don was the beloved husband of the late Marguerite (Lyons) Wallace. He was the father of the Rev. Diane Hilpert-McIlroy and her husband Robert McIlroy of Nipigon ON, Larry Wallace and his wife Marilyn of Kitchener, Denise Riddolls and her husband Lloyd of Harriston and Perry Wallace and his wife Jean of Harriston.

Grandfather of Trevor Hilpert and Pam Whalen of Simcoe, Trent and Tracy Hilpert of Waterloo, Dallas and Steve Hall of Orleans, ON, Carla and Steve VanSickle of Harriston, Melissa and Peter Bortolon of Guelph, Robert and Kim Wallace of Kitchener and Madison Riddolls of Toronto.

Great-grandfather of Avery, Blythe and Shea Hilpert; Sloan and Aspen Hall, Cayle and Wyatt VanSickle, Aidan and Quinn Bortolon, Jaidyn and Evan Wallace.

Remembered by his nieces Judy Peel, Joan Goll, Catherine Siefried, and Karen Culbert Don was predeceased by his nephew John Lyons.

Don owned Don Wallace and Son Plumbing & Heating, was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church. He was with the Harriston Minto Fire Department for 55 years serving as the Fire Chief for 16 years.

Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Wednesday January 7th 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.. The funeral will be held at Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Thursday January 8th at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ross Gill officiating.

Interment in Harriston Cemetery.
