NEWS FROM THE COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Posted: Jan 20, 2014
Web Conferencing Training Available:

The Communications Committee (working to help implement our Diocesan Strategic Plan) is recommending the use of web conferencing across our Diocese as an additional means of communication. The primary use of web conferencing will be for educational purposes (workshops, etc.). We think the potential for this is really exciting, but in order for that to be realized, we need to start getting folks comfortable with the technology. To that end, consider yourself invited to an orientation session. You are welcome to participate from any computer, anywhere, which has high speed Internet plus speakers and a microphone [or a headset with both earphones and microphone].

Members of our committee will lead these sessions, booked for January 29th (2-4 p.m.), and February 12th (7 - 9 p.m.). Participation is limited to 8 people per session. If interest warrants, which we hope it will, additional orientation sessions will be offered.

Our goal is to make sure there are people in each of our five deaneries who are comfortable using the technology so that, when workshops and other educational opportunities are organized, participants will be able to help each other out. And yes, these will be offered soon!

If you would like to participate in an orientation session, please send an E-Mail to webconferencealgoma@ontera.net, state which date you are interested in, and Linda Langdon will sign you up!
