What are you doing for Lent?

Posted: Feb 13, 2013

Dear Friends,

Today marks the beginning of Lent.  Those interested in taking on a Lenten discipline may be interested in the following resources:

  • ‘Lenten Listening: Hearing God during Lent’ – this is a project of the Temiskaming Deanery and features meditations and art from people within our own diocese.  Download the booklet here.
  • ‘Ecce Homo: Poems for Lent and Holy Week’, compiled by Karen A. Keely for individual and group meditation.  Download the resource here.
  • ‘A Carbon Fast for Lent’ – a resource designed to help us think about our use of the earth’s resources, recommended by our Social Justice and Mission Committee.  Find the document here.
  • ‘Gospel Meditations and Prayer for Lent’ – a collaborative project by the professors of Wycliffe College, available online and as a weekly e-mail.  Available at the web site here.

Whatever resources you use as an individual or in your parish, let us pray for one another that this Lent would be a season of reconciliation with God and within his Church, that we might know the joy of forgiveness and deeper fellowship.

Wishing you a holy Lent,

+Stephen
